HOLT CAT is the authorized Caterpillar® heavy equipment and engine dealer for 118 counties in South, Central, North and East Texas. Established in 1933, HOLT® sells, services and rents Cat equipment, engines and generators for construction, mining, industrial, petroleum and agricultural applications. HOLT sells Caterpillar used equipment worldwide and fabricates its own line of custom engineered products including root plows and water tankers.
HOLT CAT is one of 15 dealers in North and South America to receive Caterpillars "Circle of Excellence" award for 2010. The award is given to the top five dealers in Caterpillar’s East Region, in the West/Canada Region, and in the South America Region. This prestigious recognition is achieved through a dealership’s consistent excellence across a variety of business measurements including performance, quality, safety and customer satisfaction
Company History
HOLT CAT was established in 1933 by William K. Holt, second son of Benjamin Holt. Benjamin Holt developed the world's first practical track type tractor in 1904 and named it the Caterpillar. In 1925, his company, Holt Manufacturing, merged with Best Tractor to form Caterpillar Tractor Co.
HOLT CAT is currently owned by Peter M. Holt, fourth generation descendent of Benjamin Holt.
