With a 60-year history of success, MRC has retirement communities throughout Texas, with over 1000+ employees and growing! A financially strong non-profit, MRC is solely focused on transforming the aging experience through innovation and heart! This internship will be an 8-week program housed on one of the MRC campuses and may include additional visits to other MRC campuses as well. The campus will be a provider of senior housing and healthcare including retirement apartments/cottages, assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing care. The intern will be immersed in the daily operations of the campus.
Areas of learning will include:
Accounting, Business Office, Budgeting, Financial Statement Review Human Resources including recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, performance review, discipline, employee benefits, wage planning, scheduling, etc. Marketing, Sales, and Admissions including strategy and processes. Dining services including menu planning, staffing and resident satisfaction. Healthcare Services including skilled nursing care, assisted living and memory care. This will include all functions of a health care setting such as licensure and certification, resident care and programming. Resident engagement opportunities such as planning and executing events, social services, and learning the philosophies of the Eden Alternative and how it is applied. Qualifications
Pursuing a B.S. B.A. or B.B.A. in healthcare, business, management, sociology or mass communications and be classified as Junior or Senior Interest in working with older adults in a mission driven setting Communicates professionally, respectfully and tactfully in all situations Ability to speak and write effectively Dependable and punctual Models an attitude of service toward others, is friendly and courteous
